Greeley Mars Analog Field Image Archive

Overview:

During Dr. Greeley’s prolific career, he undertook many excursions to geologic sites that spanned the globe. His primary targets were volcanic sites, including volcanic cones, flows, and exposures of ancient deposits. In addition, he looked at aeolian features, especially wind streaks, and observed how wind modified rocks and the environment. These photographs have been available only in the RGCPS as hard copy prints. Through a NASA Planetary Data Archiving Restoration and Tools (PDART) grant, we have begun to digitize these prints and will be making them available for viewing and downloading. Each field site will be listed with a brief description, scientific purpose, and information about the photography.
